The Fall of the Islamic Republic of Iran

As you should have heard by now (Sunday, March 1), the U.S. and Israel bombed Iran, taking out a number of military facilities along with almost the entire upper echelon of the Islamic Republic, including Ayatollah Khamenei. Iranians are dancing and cheering in the streets of every city and town in Iran. Iranian exiles in the U.S. and Europe are dancing in the streets everywhere. Don’t believe me? Search X for videos, there are a ton. Everyone directly impacted by that brutal, evil regime is dancing. Have you noticed the flag the Iranian exiles are carrying in their marches? It’s not the flag of the Islamic Republic. It’s the original lion and sun flag. The Iranian flag.

Except for American and European leftists. They’re out protesting against the dancing Iranians.

About the “legality” of the U.S. airstrikes I will only say, that yes, the president has the authority. No, there was no need for a formal declaration of war from Congress. There hasn’t been one of those since World War II. Iran exported its terror regime to Europe, North America, Israel, and elsewhere around the world. That made it a source of concern for the national security of the U.S.

Oh, and that whole “international law says it’s illegal to attack on religious holy days such as Ramadan” bullshit that’s going around? The Iran-Iraq war lasted for eight years without a break for Ramadan. In 1973 the Arab states attacked Israel on Yom Kippur, one of the holiest days in Judaism. The October 7, 2023 attack in Israel was a holy day in the Jewish calendar… was that against international law? Or are only Muslims accorded that supposed “courtesy?”

If you’re still upset, think about this. For starters, while Shia Islam was the official religion, other religions were tolerated, Sharia law was not a part of the government, and Iran was secular for all practical purposes. Don’t believe me? Go look up photos of Iran before 1979. Iran is Persian, not Arab. There’s a big difference there. The 1979 revolution imposed Sharia law as official government policy on Iran. The 1979 revolution imposed an Islamic theocracy on Iran and outlawed all other religions, as theocracies do. A theocracy, by the way, that despises women and sentences gays and trans people to death by all sorts of slow torturous methods.*

So, no, killing Khamenei was not killing the “popular” ruler of Iran, no matter how the WaPo and NYT want to portray him as a benign father-figure. A man who legalized marriage for girls as young as nine. Let that sink in… the NYT and WaPo call a man who said it’s okay and praised, for grown men to marry nine-year-old girls. And, no. Consummation of the marriage was not postponed.

Under the Islamic Republic, Iranian women were stripped of their rights, relegated to second-class citizenship and yet Western women are protesting in favor of maintaining that status quo. Iranian women were whipped and hanged for the charge of being a rape victim. They had acid thrown in their faces for not being “properly” covered. During the most recent protests, reports suggest the regime massacred upwards of 30,000-40,000 people in January 2026 alone. Y’all protested two deaths at ICE protests (there were 56 deaths under Obama’s program of ICE deportations. Does that upset you? Did you care then? And if you didn’t know… does it upset you that you didn’t?) Did you even raise a question about 30-40k? No. No, you did not. And if you tell me you didn’t see it on the news, then that should tell you, you need better news sources. You’re allowing CNN et al to gatekeep your information.

So, if you’re upset about the death of Khamenei, you need to think about what you’re supporting. Seriously. Pay fucking attention to who and what you are supporting when you go out, either in public or online, and scream about war with Iran… are you willing to tell dancing Iranians that they’re wrong and should be angry the brutal regime they’ve lived with for almost fifty years is finally destroyed? Are you going to tell them their women should be happy about Sharia law?

The story of Iran for the last 47 years is horrific, brutal, ugly, and above all, evil.

Do you really want to oppose its end?

  1. For years now they’ve been cosplaying “Handsmaid’s tale” around thr US as if it was a warning. Theyre now protesting _in favor of_ the very regime that the whole concept came feom and was inspired by.

Im led to the conclusion that they aren’t protesting against that scenario. Its fantasy wish-fulfillment. Part of them WANTS to live in that society.

    • I am inclined to agree. They have a fantasy in their head that if they lived under that type of regime, they’d be so brave, so daring, and rise up against the regime no matter the personal cost. But it’s a fantasy. They have no depth of character and they know it as evidenced by the fact that when women *do* rise up against such as regime and sacrifice everything up to and including their own lives, as Iranian women have been doing for 47 years, the pussy hats ignore, or worse, protest against those women.

    • I always thought Handmaid’s Tale was a reflection of Obama/Biden whether the viewers all picked up on that. I strain to find authoritarian actions by conservatives while there are hundreds of examples from the Left/Woke.

  2. I still curse Carter for his feckless behavior in 1979. I’m still ashamed at how this country rolled over, even with the Gipper in charge in 1984 when the Beirut bombing happened at the Marine barracks. We should have done more then.
