If you pay attention to any news, you might think that Antifa is a thing of the past (or at least soooo 2021) or has been knocked off its pedestal by the antisemitic, pro-Hamas students at universities across this country, and particularly those utter fools at Columbia. But fear not! Antifa is alive and well in the Pacific Northwest and up to their usual shenanigans of bullying, threatening, and being plain old violent.
I just saw a video on X showing masked (of course) Antifa folks stalking and threatening an elderly couple. The couple had just gone to a Turning Point USA (TPUSA) event. Now, if you paid any attention during the oh-so-lovely summers of 2020 and 2021 when we couldn’t have family gatherings for fear of massive contagion, but we could all participate in any sort of riot or protest without fear of contagion, you will remember that Antifa spent an inordinate amount of time destroying downtown Portland, Oregon and Seattle, Washington along with a number of other cities.
On Monday (5 May), Antifa (and Students for Justice in Palestine) invaded the University of Washington, took over a building, set fires, blocked fire department access, and actually overwhelmed the Seattle PD (not hard to do these days). I invite you to watch videos of that, especially where one man yells “Death to police!” and “Every police death is a victory for the resistance!” (As a side note, my very favorite group is “Queers for Palestine.” That is, to borrow a phrase, like chickens supporting KFC. Talk about being unable to read the room!)
One thing you will always notice about Antifa and the Students for Justice in Palestine is that they cover their faces. “Oh, well, yeah,” you say. “They don’t want cops to arrest them.” Well, yeah. But they’re breaking the law, not by protesting, but by the violence and destruction they engage in. And think about this: they claim to be in support of “justice for Palestine” yet they don’t want to show their faces. Are they ashamed of their support for justice? If all they wanted was justice, why are they afraid to show their faces? If all Antifa wants is for fascism to become extinct, why are they afraid to show their faces? Do they lack the courage of their convictions? Are they afraid to admit in public what they stand for?
Or do they just not want to admit they get their jollies by doing a little of the “old ultra-violence?”
I am writing about this as a reminder that Antifa, which bills itself as “anti-fascist” is in reality fully supportive of fascism and all its suppressive and totalitarian methods of control. Forcing or requiring people to think the same as you do is fascist at its core.
In the video I linked above a couple attended an event put on by TPUSA. Now, you might not agree with TPUSA its founder Charlie Kirk, and that’s fine. It’s allowed. What’s NOT allowed is forcing others to view TPUSA the same way you do. Antifa hates TPUSA because it stands for everything they despise, and in their minds, that hatred they hold justifies terrorizing anyone who demonstrates even the smallest amount of support for TPUSA. Antifa wants to shut down and shut out any and all disagreement. You must agree with everything they say and do, or they will come after you. Does that sound anti-fascist to you? Me, I think it sounds very PRO-fascist. Everything within the state, nothing outside the state, nothing against the state – that is the definition of fascism and it’s the definition of Antifa as well – even though they’d disagree.
Ya know, I read stuff I disagree with all the time. I used to attend speaker presentations of individuals with whom I disagreed. Why? Because hearing or reading arguments from the horse’s mouth, instead of interpreted by others, was the only way I could know for certain what I was disagreeing with and how to come up with reasonable responses. So, who’s to say that all of those in attendance at the TPUSA event were supportive? Some may have been there to see for themselves what it’s all about. What’s wrong with that?
Or are you one of those people who think that understanding your opposition is somehow supporting your opposition? Do you prefer to let others read and listen to everything for you? What are you so afraid of? Cooties?
I’ve said this again and again. You are responsible for getting information and then digging further. You need to stop letting others tell you what to think and you need to go back to thinking for yourself. Just because you heard it on MSNBC, or CNN, or read it in the NYTimes, Wall Street Journal (which is conservative in name only. Like a lot of RINO politicians, they are more comfortable with the status quo than they are with actually presenting alternate points of view), or the Washington Post, does not mean it was accurate reporting. The same goes for all news sites on the right side of the spectrum. If something seems like spin, then it likely is. Find multiple sources. If they all use the same phrases, find other sources, because it’s likely they’re just sourcing their stories from each other.
CHECK IT OUT FOR YOURSELF!
If you wish to actually be an informed citizen, then you must do the work. No, it’s not easy, but keeping our freedoms requires work, not complacency and certainly not unthinking, unexamined trust in politicians, or media, or bureaucrats, or even experts.
Antifa is still out there, still behaving in a very fascistic manner.
Students for Justice for Palestine are still there and still fascist anti-Semites.
And even if you don’t want anything to do with them, they are very interested in you and your views. Because your views may need their corrections.
One Response
“Anti-Fascist” has been a code name for Communist since before WW2. They may dress in black, but they are red through and through, and the current crop is more Pol Pot and Mao’s Red Guards flavor than the pallid western European Commies o our youth. These people are dangerous terrorists and should be cooling their heels in Gitmo.
