Holding Government Accountable

Our political system is designed to be accountable TO the citizens of the United State. That means that Every. Single. Person in government, including unelected bureaucrats, WORKS FOR THE CITIZENS. We are the ultimate bosses – not the other way around.

As DOGE continues its work tracking and discovering fraud and abuse of taxpayer money, I frequently hear the question/accusation: “What are you gonna say when they start finding Republicans who did the same thing? Huh? Huh?”

My response to that is: Same thing I’ve been saying about the corrupt Democratic politicians – get rid of all the m-fers. ALL of them. Every last one – out the damn door. I don’t care which party they claim as home, if they’re funneling money to a spouse’s NGO, or taking money from China, or working with the totalitarians at WEF, or screwing Chinese spies (will somebody please tell Eric Swalwell he’s a complete tool and has zero moral authority and get him the hell off the national stage? Please?) Get. Rid. Of. Them. All.

Primary them.

Question deeply those who would replace them.

Go back to your Civics 101 class (if you didn’t have one, lemme know – it’s what I do).

Pay attention to politics at the local AND national level.

Never assume that the person running actually has your best interests in mind. Question them. Question them thoroughly.

Will you find the perfect candidate? No. Will you find a candidate you can work with? Yes. Will even the best candidate make mistakes? Yes. And you as a citizen have an obligation to point out those mistakes and require they be corrected. Is there a chance the candidate you supported will turn out to be a less-than-competent individual who was just good at campaigning and not so good at governing? Yes. Make that public, don’t cover it up because “well, they’re a nice person” or some such ridiculousness. And then primary them.

Read the Constitution. I mean it. Read it. Read all the amendments. Read the actual Supreme Court decisions you have feelings about. For example, for those of you wailing about abortion “rights” I suggest you read Dobbs. You might find it’s a bit different than CNN or MSNBC or WaPo or NYT was telling you.

Read the Federalist Papers. All of them. These are the arguments put forth by Madison, Hamilton, and Jay in support of ratification of the Constitution. When reading these, bear in mind, the Federalist Papers were initially published in newspapers as op-eds. They were not hoity-toity academic arguments, they were written specifically to the average American at the time – farmers, mechanics, merchants, sailors, seamstresses, tailors, etc. If you find them too complex to get through, maybe consider what that shows about our educational system today.

Ask yourself why you rely on the government so damn much. Why do you defer to decisions made by politicians? Why do you act as though those politicians are more intelligent, or better informed, or have a better grasp of situations than you do? Why do you believe the same about bureaucrats? Bureaucrats are not experts in everything. Most of them are not even experts in their claimed field of expertise. A lot of people listened and faithfully followed everything Anthony Fauci proclaimed. Guess what? At the point in time when he was pontificating to us, he:

A. Was unelected
B. Hadn’t practiced medicine in THIRTY-FIVE years
C. Was unaccountable to the American people
D. GUESSED at masks and “social distancing.” Guessed. He had no clue what he was talking about.
E. KNEW ABOUT AND ASSISTED regarding the origins of WuFlu.

Remind me again why government shouldn’t be held accountable? And I mean all of government – president, all of Congress, and most especially all of the bureaucracy. They are PUBLIC SERVANTS. They work for you. Why do you object to giving them performance reviews? Or is it that Musk is doing your job better than you have been doing it and that pisses you off?

Of course, holding your elected representatives and unelected bureaucrats accountable requires work on your part. Yes, I recognize you have a life and don’t want to add to your already full plate. But, if you don’t hold these guys accountable, they will interfere, and interfere badly, in your life. Because you ceded responsibility to them, they will, as they have, begin to tell you what’s good for you, regardless of your circumstances, and when/if you object (on the grounds that they are not living your life), they will set out to make your life miserable, if not thoroughly wreck it.

All because you didn’t want to deal with giving them a performance review.

Everyone in any position of power in the government must be held accountable. It is our responsibility to do so.

In addition, we need to start holding the media accountable as well. MSNBC just settled a defamation lawsuit because they lied and knew they lied about a doctor “performing mass hysterectomies” at an ICE detention center. How many of you read that story, saw red, and vowed to do whatever it took to “stop the madness?” You were manipulated by a purportedly “objective” media entity into believing a lie. That’s just one. Ask yourself if they were willing to go to those lengths to destroy a doctor (a female doctor, fyi), what else are they willing to lie about just to advance their own agenda?

We are in a period of upheaval and turmoil right now because the established and entrenched politicians, bureaucrats, and media have lied like dirty rugs for decades. And now they’re telling you that it’s not the lies that are the problem, but rather the uncovering of the lies is the biggest issue. And if you’re screaming about DOGE, you’re buying that lie. You should be angry with the liars, not those who are pointing out the lies.

And get out your popcorn for today’s reveal of Epstein’s client list. More screaming will ensue, I’m certain.

Hold them ALL accountable. Make them explain their behavior. Remind them they work for us and not the other way around.

It’s gonna get rocky, but if we stay the course, we’ll be okay. Better than okay. We’ll be free again.
