Many of you will be angry just at the title. Read this whole post and then revisit that anger.
Ceuta and Melilla are Spanish cities/territories in Morocco. They are legally part of Spain. When you are inside either of the cities, you are effectively inside Spain while standing on the African continent. Ceuta was invaded, there is no other word for it when 60,000 to 80,000 (various estimates) military aged men race through the entrance to your city and immediately start looting businesses, yesterday. The Army has been called in.
In April of this year, Spain’s prime minister, Pedro Sanchez, a member of the Socialist party, announced an amnesty plan for all “undocumented immigrants” currently in Spain. To qualify they had to be in Spain prior to 1 January 2026. Later, it was announced that family members could join those applying for amnesty.
Yesterday, 80,000 or so, male (all military aged males, no elderly, no women, no children) stormed into Ceuta. Ceuta’s population is 83,000. Half of that current population is Muslim. 80,000 men just ran into Ceuta yesterday.
80,000 in one day into a city of 83,000.
Spain spent about 700 years under Muslim rule; the Al-Andalus lasted from 711 – 1492 AD. Ferdinand and Isabella are the ones who finally pushed the last of the caliphate out of Spain and returned it to Spanish control.
Most people (and international law) consider refugees to be families looking for an opportunity to begin a new life free from war, terror, and/or persecution. Watch these videos. Does that look like desperate families? Where are the women? Children? Elderly? There are none to be found.
These videos show what happened in Ceuta yesterday. That is not migration of desperate families hoping for new lives. If you can find the women, children, and old people, please do point them out. This is an invasion force bent on pillaging the city. Other videos show the just arrived “immigrants” breaking into homes and businesses, chasing and beating residents, and generally destroying anything they can find.
It’s clear these men were not in Ceuta to be refugees. They were there to pillage just like historical invasion forces pillaged the cities they conquered.
It appears as though PM Sanchez is eager to return to the days of the Al-Andalus when all non-Muslims were persecuted, forced to convert, or forced to pay special taxes called jizya for the privilege of living in Muslim controlled territory (just like paying protection money to the mob so they won’t burn down your store). In return, non-Muslims lived as second-class citizens with no rights whatsoever.
Look at these videos again. Again, this is not immigration. This is an invasion.
Don’t believe me? Go onto X and look at all the videos. Don’t like X because it lets people who disagree with you speak? Figure out what freedom of speech means. Don’t want the ugly reality of politics to harsh your mellow? You might want to pay attention to politics before politics pays attention to you. Just because you choose to ignore politics DOES NOT MEAN IT WON’T AFFECT YOU, YOUR LIFE, AND YOUR LOVED ONES. And the likelihood of politics affecting you adversely is very high these days.
Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez just invited an invading force into Spain. The situation in Ceuta is so bad right now, the Spanish Army is being called in to deal with it.
All this begs the question, why is the mainstream media silent on all of this activity? (That’s rhetorical, no need to lecture me in the comments, please).
This is what is going on in Europe. Just because CNN or the Wall Street Journal doesn’t talk about it doesn’t mean it isn’t happening. Think about how much gate-keeping authority you are handing over to the media when you only look at the usual sources.
Find new/uncomfortable to you news sources. Read them. Every day. As a responsible citizen you cannot continue to ignore politics you don’t like in the hopes it will all go away. Nor can you continue to rely on limited sources for your information. The world is in turmoil and you have a responsibility to dig out as accurate information as you can. That means reading sources you’re “certain” you will dislike or disagree with. That means comparing what those disliked sources tell you with what your usual sources tell you.
Life and politics come at you fast. You need to be ready to face them both.

Realistically, I don’t see any way for the Spanish to recover from this. They will have to leave the territory and hope they can get their people out. It was a long night in Ceuta and Melila.
I agree with you. This is going to get far worse before they can fix anything.
The Moroccans have judged that the time is ripe to simply take back the Spanish possessions on the north African coast, and call it done. Given the ccurrent Spanish government, I bet they succeed.
Yeah. I saw somewhere that there’s rumors Rabat is busing people, men, to the borders of Ceuta and Melilla. It wouldn’t surprise me at all.
