Tuesday was a bloodbath for Republicans. There’s no getting around it. It was an absolute bloodbath.
How we as conservatives respond to that bloodbath is going to be key. Make no mistake, Democrats are going to bring out the long knives and attempt to eliminate any and all opposition to the totalitarian policies they hold so dear.
One silver lining of this outcome is Republican voters now know they are not alone. Republican politicians need to wake up, smell the coffee and start paying attention to those of us who vote for them. We are no longer supporting the “go-along, get-along” Republicans who take great pride in losing gracefully to Democrats. Republican voters need to come together and support primary challenges to old guard GOP types who want to keep everything business as usual.
Republican business as usual supports Democrats, not Republicans.
What has to happen to avoid Republican business as usual?
- Get rid of John Thune as Senate Majority leader.
- Hold Ted Cruz to the rhetoric about standing up to Democratic totalitarian policies he’s currently spewing, along with every other sitting Republican who’s suddenly talking like they’ve been a true conservative all along.
- Primary every last Republican Senator and Representative who passively or actively supported Democrats in this last election (find the Cornyn/Massie wanna-be’s and neuter them. They are not our friends).
- Raise money and support the true conservatives.
- Don’t believe Democratic and media propaganda about Republican candidates.
- Use the primaries to get good candidates but come together at the general and support the GOP candidate even if your guy/gal didn’t win.
- In the general election, remember that voting third party or not voting to “teach them a lesson” is not the flex you think it is… that’s how we got where we are today.
- Support voter ID and genuinely secure elections, cleaning out fraud at every level, secure borders, all the rights enumerated in the Constitution.
- And most importantly… come together at the local level. Start seeking out GOP groups or create them if they don’t exist in your area.
Republicans in every state need to create a deep bench with younger candidates. We need to push back against Democratic policies that erode our rights (those are usually marketed as “for the greater good” or some such b.s. phrasing). Raise money and support candidates.
Stand up.
Don’t be afraid to talk about your values out loud.
Don’t be afraid of being called names; remember sticks and stones…
Learn your history so you have information at your fingertips.
Pay attention to all politics, but especially at the local level. Yes, most of us just want to be left alone to live our lives. But the Democrats and the DSA hate that idea which means we have to keep an eye on things and stay salty.
Learn how to recognize baited comments and deflect or ignore them. Don’t respond to accusations, instead ask what evidence they have to make that accusation (whether it’s directed at you specifically, GOP, or Trump, or whoever). Asking “why?” is always a good way to set someone back. They usually don’t have an answer to that simple question.
Don’t fool yourself. It’s going to get ugly over the next couple of years. If you’re worried about the area you live in right now, figure out a way to move if possible. If that’s not possible, make sure you can keep yourself and your family safe.
BUT…
We are not alone and we have the capability and desire to win this war. It’s not going to happen overnight. Anyone who thinks that is only fooling themselves.
Don’t start any fights but make damn sure you finish them (hopefully just on a rhetorical level but do keep an eye out for the crazies).
We can get our country back and be a beacon of Western civilization once again but it is going to take A LOT of work.
We got this.

Yup, all of this. We need to create a deeper bench of Brandon Gills.
