These People Are Desperate

The Guardian published an opinion piece on Sunday in which they stated “…there is a danger that the battle for Ukraine may divert attention from the approaching climate change crisis.” Seriously?? There’s a war on, there are approaching a million refugees entering neighboring countries, and you’re worried that the war is a distraction? That is sheer desperation on the part of those who planned to pivot us all away from Wuflu and on to climate change. Then Putin, that bastid, stuck a monkey wrench in their plans and invaded Ukraine. The nerve!

Afflicting The Comfortable

Reporters and journalists like to say that their job is to “comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable.” That’s a nice, pat, rather condescending way of describing something that in the last couple of decades they don’t actually do. If you’ve been paying attention (and I know you have) you have noticed that the journalist crowd likes to bully those who dare to disagree with them (their definition of “the comfortable”), and present political opponents (their political opponents) in the worst possible light.

Banned Books?

There’s another kerfuffle rolling around and that is about supposedly banned books. I’ve seen a number of FB memes extolling the virtues of reading banned books and listing books that seem relatively innocuous (which is by design because those creating the lists want you to be surprised by the stupidity of those doing the banning) to most people. However, as with the term “anti-vax” getting thrown in the face of those who are anti-mandate, the term “banned” really has no meaning when you realize that anybody can take that list of books to Amazon, or down to their local Barnes & Noble, or their public library and find and buy or check out every. Single. One.

Truckers, Speech, and Pushback

There are several things going on in the last few days that are making me laugh. There’s a huge convoy of trucks making its way across Canada to Ottawa to lodge a protest with (now fled) Prime Minister Justin “I like partying in blackface” Trudeau. Prior to fleeing Ottawa (yes, he really did) for a “safe” location, Trudeau commented that many of those in the convoy have “unacceptable views.” I’m kind of curious what specific views the PM believes are “unacceptable.” Could it be because they disagree with his policies? Is that unacceptable? Is disagreement with progressive/liberal/left/Democratic (in our case) politicians unacceptable?

Insurrection or Astroturf?

Tomorrow I expect to hear and see much wailing, gnashing of teeth, sackcloth, ashes being strewn about, moaning about the “state of democracy”, calls for stronger gun control, calls for bringing back the “sedition” part of the Aliens and Seditions Act. All of which is designed to get the average “I just want to live my life” American to wring their hands, bemoan those awful racist Republican Trumpists, and vote straight Democrat tickets next election.

I Am So Done

I am getting very tired of reading that the “pandemic” caused businesses to close or prices to rise or suicides to increase or cancer deaths to increase or whatever other problem social or medical is on the rise. The pandemic didn’t cause those things. The response to the Wuflu caused those things to occur.

A-Fisking We Will Go!

Oh, look – it’s another stupid article purporting to be journalism. That means I’m gonna do another fisking (fisking is fun!) This time, we’re going to be looking at the significant difference between the terms anti-vax and anti-mandate. These are two (obviously) completely different terms, yet these propagandists masquerading as objective journalists would have us believe that they mean the same thing. This time the less-than-gifted “reporter” is Kelly Weill at the Daily Beast (yeah, yeah, I know, but let’s give it a go anyway).

Real Grassroots Action

The left really has no idea what exactly is meant by grassroots activism and action. I was reading an opinion piece this morning from the Boston Herald’s Joe Battenfield titled “Biden tormented by Republican guerilla action and ‘I did it’ stickers.” It’s a short piece, but it’s highly illustrative of the monstrously large blind spot the left has for anybody who opposes their policies, and the definition of grassroots action.

I Aim to Misbehave

This report is maybe 12 years old. Parliament buried it, and it stayed buried ’til River dug it up.

This is what they feared she knew. And they were right to fear ’cause there’s a whole universe of folk who’re gonna know it, too. They’re gonna see it.

Somebody has to speak for these people.

Y‘all got on this boat for different reasons, but y’all come to the same place. So now I’m askin’ more of you than I have before. Maybe all.

As sure as I know anything, I know this: They will try again. Maybe on another world. Maybe on this very ground swept clean. A year from now, 10, they’ll swing back to the belief that they can make people…better. And I do not hold to that.

So no more runnin’.

Stupidity or Evil?

I’m going with stupidly evil or evil stupidity. Or simply, yes. The Biden Administration is stupid AND evil. Joe Biden is suffering from dementia/Alzheimer’s; take your pick – he’s not in his right mind. And even when he was in his right mind he lied like a rug, enabled his son’s hookers and blow habit, took cuts from dubious, illegal deals created by that same son, and covered for him. Jill Biden (notice how she’s not been in public for a while) thinks that she’s queen of the U.S. She insists that people outside of academia and academic settings call her “doctor.” That’s laughable and only arrogant assholes insist on that one. These are the people you voted for if you voted for Biden.
